China (Guangdong) - Canada College and Institutes Partnership Meeting was successfully held in Guangdong Engineering Polytechnic

By Nanfang Daily (Reporter / Lai Jingchao  Correspondent / Zhang Xitao) On October 30, Canada College and Institutes Partnership Meeting was successfully held in Guangdong Engineering Polytechnic. There was a first date among 38 vocational colleges from Guangdong Province and 16 vocational colleges from Canada. The representatives from both sides have a face-to-face communication and reached broad consensus.

 

This meet-and-greet plays an important role in promoting the cooperation mode of research and innovation involved “Production, Learning and Research” between Vocational colleges of Guangdong Province and enterprises and expanding the scale of abroad students. Deputy Director-General of Guangdong Provincial Education Department Zheng Qingshun placed high hopes on this conference.

 

As the representative of Star Vocational Colleges of Guangdong Province, President Lao Hansheng looked forward to the partnership of Guangdong - Canada College and Institutes: “our college has always attached great importance to the international cooperation and has established the cooperation of running schools with Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, Dong-A University, Fo Guang University totaled 26 foreign universities. I hope this cooperation with Canada colleges will achieve fruitful results.”

 

At the conference, Deputy Director of Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of Guangdong Provincial Education Department and Secretary-general of International Communication Association of Guangdong Education Li Jinjun, Chairman of the Association of Canada Colleges and Institutes Ms. Denise Ammyot represented China and Canada respectively and signed a Memorandum on International Communication Association of Guangdong Education- Canada Colleges and Institutes Cooperation to lay the foundation for establishing the platform for the Sino-Canada Vocational Education Cooperation.

 

It was said that this partnership meeting was held in line with WFCP World Congress 2014 and aimed to promote the vocational college cooperation between Chinese and other countries and advance the development of Chinese Vocational Education by learning from developed countries’ experiences in vocational education.
